Hi Lucky!

The url for the video is:

https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10152832854448588&permPage=1

(warning, may need to find a barf bag before viewing!)

and the embed they kick out is:

<div id="fb-root"></div> <script>(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));</script>
<div class="fb-post" data-href="https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10152832854448588" data-width="466"><div class="fb-xfbml-parse-ignore"><a href="https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10152832854448588">Post</a> by <a href="https://www.facebook.com/sarahpalin">Sarah Palin</a>.</div></div>

I read elsewhere that using an embed like this should work:

<object width=&#8221;400&#8243; height=&#8221;224&#8243; >
<param name=&#8221;allowfullscreen&#8221; value=&#8221;true&#8221; />
<param name=&#8221;allowscriptaccess&#8221; value=&#8221;always&#8221; />
<param name=&#8221;movie&#8221; value=&#8221;http://www.facebook.com/v/10152832854448588&#8221;/>
<embed src=&#8221;http://www.facebook.com/v/10152832854448588&#8221; type=&#8221;application/x-shockwave-flash&#8221;
allowscriptaccess=&#8221;always&#8221; allowfullscreen=&#8221;true&#8221; width=&#8221;400&#8243; height=&#8221;224&#8243;>
</embed>
</object>

but I'm either doing it wrong or it doesn't work anymore.

P.S. the code gets translated to shit when I submit it to you in this comment but if you go the referenced webpages below you can see what I actually pasted here.
Thanks for your help!

Facebook?

Huh... Is that similar to MySpace or maybe Friendster? It should be expected that some lesser-known websites wouldn't be on our list of accepted video hosts.

@speechless - Can you PM me the embed code you're trying to use? Please enclose it in code tags so it will be properly formatted.

If this is how science works now then I think we're screwed. Someone/Group/Etc gathers a bunch of (and not all of) conflicting data and then says the average equals true?

"..it's a judgement call as to which analyses is correct".
"I tend to favor".
"because it seems"

Is that the scientific method? The scientific mind at work?

What happened to reproducible results?

I have the latest flash (11.9.900.117) and latest Firefox (24.0). That said, I'm pretty sure it's an issue with the flashblock extension. Normally I just click on the flash I want want to play (or on the rare occasion that doesn't work, "copy flash location" and go directly to the source, then click to play) but in this case neither works. Thanks anyways.

It could be html5, I've tried to disable as much of that as I could in firefox, but this is the first video that I could not get to play at all anywhere.

Seems like your browser isn't able to play Flash. Does that sound right? Most videos are now HTML5, but that one is from some unknown host that uses Flash.

Wheel momentum Walter Lewin.

Agreed. Nothing unexpected happened here for me. I'm not sure that means I was able to intuit the events, I just anticipated them. Maybe it's just semantics. I suppose all intuition is based on the sum of your knowledge and past experience. What else could intuition be?

I feel like if you have a good grasp of all the concepts involved...gravity, conservation of angular momentum, torque, etc...then this kind of is intuitive. It just takes an understanding of physics as a whole to make the leap. (Then again, maybe that base of understanding makes it not intuitive?)

She has a great voice. Are these guys a small "local" band or something?

They're known as "Honey and the Hipster Douchebags".

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic, but given that a Google search for that term yields your comment as the #1 result (and a mere 26 minutes after you commented it!), I'm guessing you're being disingenuous.

I never get used to seeing brand new terms showing up as #1 on Google minutes after they're coined here on the Sift. That's just splendiddlyific! :
