There have been some busts of shops that sell both paraphernalia & pot here in Toronto, but the police aren't looking to arrest or charge the casual user. Friends of mine have been stopped by police, found to be holding single bags of weed, containing amounts less than 28 grams (ie. 'personal use' and not divided up for re-sale). Their pot is promptly given back if nothing is amiss, in the officers opinion.
Law enforcement recognizes that the courts here don't want these cases, and that they should spend their time doing 'real' po-leece work. This approach is also known as 'common sense'.
Something buggy: SiftBot did a strange things with regards to a new star levels being achieved. Mind you, I was still patting myself on the back for achieving the elite status of Silver star and the power point I earned with it. Then, I was momentarily bumped back down to Bronze when my 25th sift was (incorrectly) labelled *.dead. That was promptly fixed, moving me back into the highly exclusive Silver zone - and I earned another power point for this bump. I'll just assume it's because Sifty is so happy that I'm a member he wanted to reward me twice.
