I'm happy to see such kindness and compassion to ameliorate some of the damage done by such life-abusing human trash. Seeing the poor dog's injuries at the beginning of video made me tear up.
Story goes: in Jake's zeal to chase down some evil squirrels, he broke that same leg. The vet spotted cancer on the x-ray. Thankfully, it had not spread to his lungs, which, as I understand it, is the first place you look when you spot cancer anywhere. That was late summer 2005 when he was 10.
He turns 14 in November and he still gets a fairly clean bill of health, despite some breathing trouble for which he takes medicine.
Jake is well aware that he only has 3 legs and he falls from time to time but he's worked out a "fall system" on his own. When he knows he's falling, he points his chin up and absorbs the blow with his chest. It's fairly harmless. He's a good pooch.
I still miss him.
