Rubik Cube Solved in Stop Motion
The impatient should skip past the first minute of unboxing. Seems boring? Then wait until Fast Eddie kicks it with the old school cube!

Thing looks ridiculously tricky to solve, not available outside Japan yet.

OMG, can he even get it out of the box?? This is hilarious! Almost tongue-in-cheek * comedy.

The actual test is whether you can get it out of the packaging in less time than it takes a normal person to do it.

That bit at the end where he speed cubes it to match its order is pretty amazing in its own right.

I guess in theroy it's not really any different, but if you can wrap your head around the size shape and proportions of that cube you're a better man than I.

That's the best twist on the original Rubik's cube I've seen... just wonderful

It is called speed cubing. It is amazing to watch and a sign that the person has either competed in cubing or is a hobbiest of the most extreme kind

You can google "speed cubing" and get all sorts of pointers and algorithims...but pulling them off is another level in mental/physical coordination.

It's a shame that the only 5 seconds worth watching were the ones with the regular cube. It would be interesting to see how quickly he solves one of those.

Just watch. He's gonna summon the Cenobites from Hellraiser.

It's still a 3x3x3 cube, so all the same formulaic solutions apply. You just have to go by the size of the square instead of the color to identify what's what.

The unsolved mirror cube looks way more interesting than the unsolved (or solved, for that matter) Rubik's cube, though.

His regular cube is probably so well worked in and lubed up he could probably make parts of it spin like a top...

There is a 4x4 cube as well as a 5x5 cube. The number of purmuations in those are astronomical. Take the number of humans on the earth, square it, and you are getting closer to the number for the 5x5 cube

(the box says something like that anyway, to lazy to work out the permutations atm)

Edit: In other nerdy news about rubiks cubes; any state of a cube can be solved in less than 24 moves. This was worked out by a computer simulation of ever posibility and every solution map. Any cube configuration can be solved in 23 moves or better. They are trying to improve that, but this is the best number to date. now the 4x4x4 and 5x5x5 cubes are a whole different ball game and would require some serious computing power.

Chess is still unsolved, but they can show that a perfect game of checkers always ends up in a draw

They likely hood that chess will ever be solved is unlikely.
